Mini set development

I wanted to produce for the promotional poster a staged set which would show all of the top ten british artists in a playful, exciting way - which was different to how the in side booklet showcased them ( collage).

I started to play around with cut out magazine artists and mounting them to a white card background which would make them stand out and add value to there character:

This gave an extremely nice effect and it was easily produced, as i have said before i find cutting out very therapeutic so this was nice. To make the models 3D i had to back them with a mini triangular stand:

Adding colored shapes, zig zag to represents the bands energy to the model, this idea may of worked better in b/w:

Shadows produced and nice aesthetic which i want the final poster design to carry off to the best it can, this can be done with effective use of lighting and careful crafting/positioning.

Using the iconic British colors of white red and blue, i designed my cut out set. I printed out mini scaled versions of the artists and them photocopied them to produce them in b/w and to give them a grainy, cracked effect which would provide the artists the effect of longituablity and character.

I them mounted the characters onto white card, and cut a silowett around:

A free standing 3D florence:

Trailed lightly coloring in the figures using color crayons, however I did not think was needed and would detract the definition of the artists when placed in full composition with the blue/red strips of paper, i simply wasn't needed:
