Continuing the development for the fount cover of the look book, i trailed vectoring the pattern which was cut out of the wooden jewelry. I thought this would be a good idea to represent the theme of the patterns and colors of the garments in the front cover instead of simply using the back of leg photograph - which on its own didn't say anything to the viewer about the collection
.
Applying the vector to the front cover image, varying the scale and gradient to fit in against the background image:
Above image, fits in within the leg space, however the brand name MUIR is too small to be seen. To allow the brand name to be larger i trailed making the gradient lighter so the legs could still be seen behind it:
Starting to look effective and have the statement attracted to it, what a cover should have. However i still preferred the brand name in white as this reflects the clothes which are all soft, it matches the background photograph colour:
New layout trail using juts one triangle form the original pattern vector. Still effective however i prefer the collection of triangles mixed together:
Too much and distracting with two collums of stripes taking attention away form the original background photo:
Collection of triangles to form a repeated pattern in which it could the background imagery:
Bold outlined triangles - not working yet and still preferred the original collection of triangles:
Above is the triangle repeated pattern over a stripy background, not incorporating the original photograph for a test. Could be developed and work effectively however there are no strips on the collection so would not convey it well.
Looks far better below with the original composition of triangles:
Final composition and proposed cover design:
