I printed them out from photoshop and started to cut out sections form them and place around with a geometric arrangement:
I made a cut out cardboard shape in which i could use as a stencil to cut out event segments form the images:
Started to assemble the segments again, considering arrangements and colours used:
At the moment the collage looks very scruffy - even though this is in fitting with the theme of the night as it to be depicted as trashy, however i think arranging the cut out pieces like this losses the value of it overall. So i trailed placing it on a plain white background:
I tested placing plastic to add to the trashy, through away effect over the collage to see what effect this would effect - then i could scan it in and manipulate it form there. However it blocked view form the collage and look away the effect of it. However this could be used for the packaging for the EP cover - an idea to take forward.
Below, ideas for the format of the EP. I wanted to convey the day - to night time contrast of Miami. This was that day time Miami was plain, sunshine and blue beaches, to the raunchy, heat/trashiness of the nighttime events.
So i design a format for the Ep to incorporate this, the cover would be cut in two to once opened reveal the night time Miami. The out half would be day time Miami:
I scanned in the colage after it was stuck donw on white background and took the design into photoshop to play with the curves and hue/saturation. I used this to my advantage to make the tones within the imagery warmer, to represent the heat of miami.
Once this was done i placed the imagery within a mock EP format:
Designs work well, but i do no think that it conveys my concept clearly enough - from day to night and this contrast. To make this clearly i think nothing apart form the day time colours or imagery needs to be on the front - then once opening the night time unravels.
Also imagery used could be even more trashy as not too much can be pick out form the geometric collage currently as he pattern of it takes over i think personally.
